In no particular order:
Things to See:
I will …
- travel to Turkey: I’ve wanted to travel to Turkey forever and I still haven’t been! Enough said.
- travel to Japan: see above
- drive across the country: my best friend Alix and I had planned to do this last summer, but it fell through
- ride the Transsiberian Railroad: I’ve been to Russia, but I’ve never experienced the mind-numbing boredom of a seven-day train ride
- see Machu Picchu: another trip that fell through — this one because of the MCAT — but Allison and I will get there someday (within the next three years!)
- visit 30 countries*: this is a random but I think attainable number
- visit 89 World Heritage Sites (1/10 of total)*: see above
- walk across Lichtenstein
- complete a service project in a different country
- get extra pages in my passport: I want them!
* total. I’ve been to 20 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States. I’ve been to 39 World Heritage Sites but I figure if I actually try, I can easily make it to 89 (especially if I make it to the twenty or so in the United States, of which I’ve been to … 2!)
Things to Do:
I will …
- run a 5k: and try to strengthen my knee while I’m at it
- go skydiving
- “get” 10 Michelin stars
- donate my hair
- do 200 hours of volunteer work
- lose 15 pounds
- finish at least 3 projects on my sewing machine: that my loving parents bought me
- finish all of the books on the Norwegian Book Clubs’ list: this list was written by 100 authors from 54 countries (see also here for the list in English)
- do more cooking projects: I’m a decent cook, but I rarely do things like baking or canning — I’m going for one project a month
- find new music: I am *so* bored of the music I listen to … the challenge is to find a new band I like every month
Things to Learn:
I will …
- learn to play the drums
- learn to read Hebrew really fast: and maybe learn a little conversational Hebrew while I’m at it
- train to do the splits (again): haven’t been able to in maybe 10 years
- take trapeze lessons
- learn fingerpicking on the guitar: David can provide more information on this, because I have really no idea what I’m doing
- do 100 push-ups: see here
- learn a new text by heart every week
- learn Photoshop
- take voice lessons
- learn to juggle
